Do they keep the two species together? Or is that secondary little barrier in the back the penguins?
 
@Great Argus The penguins can access the seal area and the area in the back behind the barrier is for the penguins only - there is picket fence for several meters across the beach from the waterline and then a rope fence to discourage the seals from entering that area (as I have shown in a previous photo).
