It is a strange fact that as hornbill species have become more popular in captive collections, so too have toucan species become less popular. As such, the opportunity to view an unusual toucan species - to be more precise, an aracari - is increasingly to be treasured.

In the US, the trend appears to have been reversed - several collections have much better toucan collections than hornbill collections (see San Diego Zoo)
