Black Necked Stilt

Signed as Hawaiian? Black-necked Stilt would be far more likely...

@Great Argus Hawaiian is a subspecies of Black-necked. I do agree that this is not the Hawaiian subspecies, though.

@Great Argus It could be a mistake on my end, I was seeing other Hawaiian animals so that could’ve been my mistake I can see about going in a month to check it out to be for sure but I’ll change it to Black Necked Stilt

@birdsandbats I'm aware, although I believe it was given species status at one point historically? Given some taxonomy groups lump Black-winged and Black-necked the situation seems somewhat unresolved.

@Julio C Castro Curious, what other Hawaiian animals do they have?
It is almost certainly Black-necked Stilt.

@Great Argus A couple I photographed, albeit pretty horribly, were a few triggerfish and white tip reef sharks. The was one white tip reef shark in the large Shark Lagoon pool if I recall correctly with an assortment of larger sharks and rays and I do believe there was also a triggerfish in the small touch pool in Shark Lagoon but also had a fish I never heard of called a unicorn fish which looks eerily similar to triggerfish.

They have Guam Kingfisher at an aquarium??

@DelacoursLangur Monterey Bay Aquarium currently displays Desert Tortoise and Desert Iguana! Most aquariums have several non-aquatic species!

@DelacoursLangur they do and that critter was so hard to photograph due to its exhibit! Based on the the appearance it might’ve been a male I saw and it would randomly vocalize too
