Im pretty sure this enclosure used to hold Jags there is a pic here which looks almost indentical although im pretty sure untill a few years ago this and the Langur enclosure held Amur Leopards?
Yeap, i remember Amur Leopards and quite a few other species aswell (Lynx, Sand Cats and perhaps Persian & Clouded Leopards aswell). My memory's a little hazy as far as those last 2 species go though.
ZooMania didn't say they were uninteresting, just the least interesting. And Asian Lions and Sumatran Tigers (maybe not Serval) are among the most common cats in UK zoos, whereas something like the Clouded Leopard is much more unusual. I understand the reasons why they zoo kept the species it did, but I still miss the Clouded Leopards et al. as well.
Yeap, Maguari's right, i dont find them uninteresting it's just that i'd have much prefered they'd keep a rarer species like a Leopard or Lynx other than the Lions & Tigers which can really be seen at most if not all of the large UK Zoos.
It would also be better space wise if they'd have kept the Leopards over the larger cats.
That may be so for you, but the general public want the drawcard alphabet species', something London would want to hang on to after losing the elephants, rhinos and bears. Remember it's the people who can't tell the difference between an amur and a sumatran tiger who you'll more often meet at a zoo.
