Black-spotted whipray (Maculabatis astra) in the Deep Ocean’s Caribbean tank

This is, I believe, the only individual of this species on exhibit in North American aquaria. I had it confirmed through OdySea’s husbandry department as well as some personal research. It is a truly beautiful species and one I’d love to see more often. This photo is from my trip on April 29, 2022.
