This exhibit is located within the barbary macaque walkthrough enclosure and houses mute swans and black swans. Originally, the swans lived in the huge walkthrough aviary, and the lake on this photo was part of the barbary macaque exhibit, but the swans were too aggressive to kept in a walkthrough aviary, so they had to be isolated in a separate exhibit which was made by adding fencing to the railing.
@PAT Yes - they can climb over the fencing-less railing to the right so unless the fencing holds them back, this shouldn't be different. The lake was originally part of their exhibit, after all - the fencing was just added when the swans moved in to prevent them from walking onto the visitor paths.
