Yes. I don't think there are any other Bleeding Hearts in Australia, I haven't heard of any. The onlt ones I've seen in private hands are Luzons. Certainly ISIS only lists luzonica for the zoos in Australia.
is it known for sure they are pure? I was under the impression (possibly mistakenly, I will be the first to admit ) that the Australian / New Zealand population were all hybrids to a greater or lesser degree.
Well, I don't know for sure, and I certainly hadn't heard of any hybridising but it's possible. The birds all look phenotypically like luzonica, and I haven't heard of any other species present in Australia. I suppose there could have been hybridisation many, many moons ago, and the other species died out so the subsequent breedings have reverted back to looking like Luzons. There may even be another species held in private hands, but I haven't heard about them.
