Is Blue-bearded Macaw another name for Blue-throated Macaw? There are multiple common names for this species and every one of them is correct - I just know it as the Blue-throated Macaw (Ara glaucogularis).
@Summer Tanager I guess I tend to directly translate from the Spanish common name, "Guacamayo barbiazul", but that's the flexibility you get out of common names I guess.
@SivatheriumGuy That makes sense to me! It's only a common name, so there's always more than one! There are a lot of species in zoos for which I use an older common name that what is used today. For example, I call the Golden-breasted Starling a "Royal Starling" because that is a translation of it's scientific name and it's the name that was used in the 1980s and 1990s. I can't complain about anyone using a different common name than I use! Thank you for clearing that up!
