Blue Crowned LaughingThrush

Garrulax courtoisi, Jewels of the Forest
I didn't know Jersey had this species - Critically Endangered, with a wild population of less than 200 individuals.

Are they breeding in Jersey?

That's great!

Wish they'd been there when I last visited. Those and the Red-tailed Laughthrush are quite attractive!

Absolutely! The redtaileds are probably my favourite bird at Durrell.

I went in there with my telephoto lens on a few weeks back only to have a handreared red tailed come and sit 5" from my face everywhere I went! My picture plans were foiled!

Ha! I've had that happen more times than I can remember - that's why I now take two cameras with me!

:p
