blue duck aviary

Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, Christchurch, September 2008. There's only one blue duck in this aviary now and he's impossible to photograph because whenever people are near he just races back and forth along the front wire hoping to be fed (the zoo sells pellets for feeding various of the animals).

That is a fairly large aviary for a single bird. Nice photo!

the aviary now contains little owls and New Zealand pigeons. No blue duck any more (I think he died).

The single(Last) one I saw at the Wetlands Trust at Arundel(Sussex,UK) did that too but I thought he was being aggressive, maybe not...

...and now this aviary, which had stood empty for a wee while, holds a NZ falcon. The aviary the falcon had been in is being rebuilt to contain blue ducks. It's like musical chairs!
