Borneo Golden Puffer (Chonerhinos naritus)

Buy Fish by JZX, Singapore. 02/01/2025
A rare sight in both private and public holdings, I was fortunate to come across one of my "wishlist" species (for personal living collection) at my local fish store.

While not rare in its native range, not much is known about their living habits in the wild, except that the animals are practically blind and that they primarily locate their prey by smell. From what I can tell because of this, they are able to cohabit with most fish that do not overly stress them out, and would much rather consume prepared food items than consume live prey. They are often caught not that far out at sea, and commonly encountered in habitats such as mangroves, estuaries, rivers, and other habitats close to shore.
