@Chlidonias In the Grand Canyon village on the south rim, specifically in one of the gardens outside one of the cabins.

Interesting. I have been to Grand Canyon South Rim at least half a dozen times and never seen this.

@Arizona Docent I've seen the species a few times by happenstance in California, including in urban areas; they seem to be fairly common, though you often have to wait several minutes before one reveals itself. It's the moving earth and disappearing stalks of grass that give them away normally!

@Coelacanth18 I second this, I see them somewhat regularly popping their heads out to snag vegetation near burrow entrances.
