Until recently the Brazilian merganser was only held in Zooparc Itatiba (Brazil), which held more than half of the entire population of the species. So that's where they arrived from later last year
Prague zoo was cooperating with Itatiba for several years. It sent them some money for merganser breeding centre. And also sent them some birds like marabous in exchange.
