Is it ever scary to be around sea snakes? I've read that they are quite shy, but it's hard not to think that having the equivalent of a marine cobra around you wouldn't be freaky.
These guys are pussycats. They are curious, but very inoffensive. I've accidentally trodden on one and all it did was swim off at high speed. I'd be disappointed if I ddidn't see a sea snake on a dive/snorkel in Niue.
Having said that, other species are aggressive and should be avoided.
