I often feel that zoos are just coming alive at dusk - when it´s time to go home , unfortunately . I think one of the great joys of having a private zoo run by staff would be enjoying it in the evenings, after work.
It was very interesting when the zoo started to get dark, the majority of the cats came out and I got my first view of an Aardwolf. The zoo looked really nice in the dark especially the Budongo trail.
I often tell people to swing back round by any enclosures they didn't see anything at in the last hour that the zoo is open! the whole place comes alive, not just in the enclosures but with the "native" residents as well (grey squirrels, rabbits, foxes and badgers have all been seen at Edinburgh.)
