I am currently going through my photo collection and trying to upload images of species (and individuals in some cases) that have now left collections (inspired by TLD\'s recent thread)

The Californian Sealions left the collection in Feb 2010 to allow the zoo to redevelop the pool for Giant Otters. The last individuals were relocated to Whipsnade and Artis

Very nice; I only saw this species at Chester once, on my first visit to the collection on February 6th 2010...... so I got there in the nick of time!

Did they used to do shows, as I don't imagine Chester doing them?

No but they did do training session when open to the public, I think if I remember correctly they did it the same time as the talk or feeding.

Pretty common over here too - though like all pinniped taxa, rather less common now than they once were.
