I've consistently heard great things about the Living Desert Zoo, and this is an excellent photo of the cheetah exhibit. How big is the actual enclosure?

It is pretty good sized, but not as big as it looks in the photo. The mountain behind is outside the fence, but it is designed so you don't see any fences. This entire part of the zoo is in the foothills and the cheetah exhibit has a nice view of mountains behind in every direction. The cats are not always visible, though, and the hilly/rocky exhibit is not as well suited to the sprinting cheetah as it would be to say a puma or leopard (both of which they have here also). They have 9 species of desert cats total, and plan to add a 10th (lions) in the near future.
