Cape Clawless Otter Enclosure (onyx capensis)

  • Media owner Nix
  • Date added
The Zoo received an otter pair on the 29th of December, 2018. They currently only have a single male remaining.

Prior to the Cape Clawless, this enclosure held Spotted-necked otters.

Surprisingly, otters are rather rare in South Africa, with only two major collections currently keeping them, both with only one individual. These are Cango Wildlife Ranch, with one female Spotted-necked, and Joburg with their male Cape Clawless.
