It's weird to still see so many corn crib cages in mediocre American zoos, because there aren't many species that would be well suited to such accommodation. When it rains, there are big echoes from the drops of water, the entire enclosure is only about 20 feet wide and usually with an all-cement floor, and there is hardly any space for either birds or primates. Corn crib cages are also a huge eyesore.
@snowleopard I agree, but luckily the zoo is starting to stray away from using these. This one and one off to the right were used for primates, but they have moved to a MUCH nicer and larger enclosure. The only animals still in corn cribs are the parrots (which are only out on nice days) and the coati.
@snowleopard This zoo is definitely better than mediocre now. The couple of corn cribs that are still standing aren't in use, and look like they've been empty for well over a year, at least.
@red river hog That one was definitely empty as well, not sure if they still have the species then. I'll be going back once they open the buildings and the cheetah path.
