Which year?
I guess zebras are not hard keeping/breeding animals, so what happened? Small numbers? No possibility to bring new ones (inbreeeding problems)?

this picture isnt anythin 2 be proud off this zebra is undernourished and very sick and its nt the most apealing backround

She lived in Berlin until she died in the 1920´s and bred with ponies, donkeys and horses lots of hybrids...

The cape mountain zebra was already very endangered at this time, that´s the reason, why these species never established in Zoos (except of Berlin, they had been kept in the old Hamburg Zoo, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, etc.)

What a great photograph of an interesting subspecies of Mountain zebra, the Cape mountain zebra, thank you for posting this !!!
