Great to see this enigmatic European bird in an American collection, are there many in the U.S?

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall there was only one in the US [one holder that is]. I could have this confused though, it could have been that there was one and the numbers increased, or there are few but more than one holder. Still, believe they're rare over there none-the-less.

Bronx probably got them through the Central Park Zoo which imported a bunch. There should be a few spread out in the North East sometime in the future.

Central Park got Capercallies? Do you know if they're on exhibit somewhere or off-exhibit?

Do they keep them in air-conditioned quarters? I would have thought that New York in summer was unpleasantly hot for these birds.
