Carnivore Cages

These are tiny! Hopefully they give the large cats access to a few cages at a time to enlarge the space.

The Cats do not live in these cages. They have yards on the outside of the building. The Cats have access to both areas at night, and one or two during the day when the Lion House is open, so that the public has the opportunity to view them up close. They are never locked in, unless during extreme circumstances like the grotto upgrade in 2008. All the grottos/yards are filled, but when there has been/will be, extra Cats, those living solitary like the Tigers, would be/will be on rotation several times a day, with alternating night time outside access. When there is one inside, several/sometimes all, cages/bedrooms are open for extended access.

Does anyone else find something depressing about the lonely boomer ball ?
It has the feel of a cat rehoming center.
