This seems a huge water barrier for these primates. Was this a Polar Bear exhibit at one stage?

I didn't see the monkeys swim when I visited this zoo, but apparently they do sometimes use the pool so I think that it is considered part of their exhibit in addition to being a barrier.

There is an actual polar bear exhibit at the zoo which was state of the art in 1988 when the newly rebuilt zoo opened. It is still okay, but a bit small compared to the new polar bear exhibits being built. Here is a picture of the polar bear exhibit by mweb08: http://www.zoochat.com/553/polar-bear-exhibit-174856/

I shudder to think of a polar bear in this exhibit with its 1 meter tall perimeter barriers! The snow monkeys frequent the water moat in hot weather, alternately harrassing and being chased by Mute swans!
