I spent two days in the Tierpark on my recent visit to Berlin; both days were extremely hot and sunny. The Chacoan peccaries spent almost all the time at the far end of the enclosure sheltering from the sun in deep shadows so it was difficult to get a good view of them; consequently I’m not sure exactly how many although there were certainly several youngsters.
The on-show group are just in the same paddock the Collareds were in before them - not sure if the indoor housing has been adapted but the outside is just a normal paddock. The second group are offshow-but-visible in hardstanding around one of the ungulate houses.
I cannot really add anything to the response from "Maguari"; a fairly standard Tierpark-style ungulate enclosure that, on previous visits, housed collared peccary.
Thank you very much. I think you're being a bit too kind about the photo but - since the peccaries spent all the time sheltering from the fierce sun in the darkest part of the paddock - it was the best I could do.
