This is really appalling! If I understand your caption correctly, these large cats are drugged and chained to the floor so that people can take photos next to them. Does the zoo charge extra for this and did you see anyone actually taking pictures with the cats?
@Lori Patton It’s difficult to tell from my photos, but all of the Tigers, Lions and Ligers were on chains. They could move perhaps 5 feet in any direction and that’s it. We saw a lineup of people paying extra to get photos with the cats and another option was to go walking with a big cat on a leash and have a keeper alongside. We saw that occur and the cats are fed little chunks of meat along the way. Some of the Tigers clearly looked drowsy and they were most likely drugged. Seeing these big cats and the elephants really tainted this zoo visit, but I will say that the animal welfare on display in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia is far better than Thailand.
