This is both modern yet quite attractive. I just wish they could add some clumps of bamboo etc to soften the landscape a bit but overall it looks good. A marked contrast to the Orangutan one!
This used to be the old lion enclosure which I liked more than the new one they moved the old pride too, you can sit above this and watch the mangabeys moving around the enclosure

The newer lion enclosure isn't that great, but its much better than this old one, it must be more than twice the size of what had to be one of the worst lion enclosures in the country at the time(from the lions point of view at least)

True, but at least it had variations in height and natural planting if only what looked like bird dropped seeds such as elderberry. also the lions could watch people approaching from the top of the hill and in both directions. i must coness I haven't seen the enclosure of late as I tend to go te otherway around the zoo.
only my opinion of course.
