It would be nicer if it were planted

Macaws don't let things be planted. Very destructive birds.

hmm not always. fruit trees are fine in decent sized aviaries with macaws .
even if not they could add leavy branches . and shrubs outside the flight.
as it stands it looks like a desert or a post forest fire jungle !
