Chimpansee exhibit (April 19th, 2015)

Chimpansee (Pan troglodytes) outdoor exhibit. Poor enclosure, even for only a small group of chimpansees. The iron fencing is there in part to prevent some of the material the chimpansees throw from getting to visitors. Material present on the fence indicates the throwing behavior is still present.

Does look very poor, they should try and make a new enclosure

@felis silvestris A new one is planned and they have already started moving some animals to make space for it. When I visited last month there was also a sign with a design for a new exhibit at the location of the two old tiger exhibits. It now remains to be seen when they will get together the funding to construct the new exhibit. I really hope it happens in the next few years.
