Bakari was born at Wellington Zoo 11/06/2012 to Sally. He is her youngest and only surviving offspring. As a juvenile, Bakari carried the same rank of his mother, Sally (the alpha female). While lower ranking than adult males, Marty and Alexis, he is destined for an even higher ranking as even the weakest male outranks all females in a troop.
