The Waterfall Aviary had been a key feature of the Bird Park since day one and was originally called "Jurong Falls Aviary". It was closed in 1990 for 4 years of extensive upgrades, which included replacing and raising the height of the aviary mesh (to its final height of about 35-metres at the highest point), and enhancements to the landscaping to create a lush forest. The iconic 30-metre high waterfall was once the world's tallest man-made waterfall. It housed a varied collection of birds from Africa, Asia, Australasia and South America during different periods of its history.
