The aviary had a unique A-frame structure of varying heights. The centre of the aviary was a free-flight area landscaped as a riverine rainforest. Tucked away at the sides were individual small aviaries that housed aggressive, territorial, delicate or particularly rare species.
There were also two open pens on either side of the path outside leading to the aviary's entrance which housed Black-necked Crane, White-naped Crane, Black-necked Stork and Cape Barren Goose at different points of time.
