In Europe this species is at the moment quite rare. Only 5 zoos are keeping it and 2 of these ( one in Greece with 2 breeding pairs and Prague Zoo with 3 pairs and breeding it since 2012 ) breeding it.
During the 1970-ties - 1980-ties. it was offered ( at least in Europe ) with some regularity by dealers and it was one Dutch dealer ( Siem van't Hart ) which had the world-first breeding with this species in 1978. Zootierliste mention Zoo Frankfurt had young during 1967 but these were not raised and the world-first breeding should have been at Zoo Heidelberg in 1979 and althrough this is prop. the first breeding in a zoo, it's NOT the world first breeding !
Zootierliste also forgot to mention Dierenpark Wassenaar as a former keeper.
I myself have taken care for several pairs at Vogelpark Walsrode in the period 1986 - 1989 and during this time we had several breeding attemps and if I remember right we also raised at least one nest succesfully during this period
