For a number of years only two , and no breeding yet , one of them ( the individual in the other pictures , called Aré) is very well adapted to captivity but the cat shown in this picture has never quite adapted. They both originally came from a zoo in Central Brazil although I can't remember which it was. The individual shown in this picture is the older and fiercer of the two.
A very isolated wild population of pampas cats was discovered to exist in rural Sorocaba municipality in the late 80's / 90's but there has been very little research done on this species in the region. I'd actually like to develop a research project on this very topic in the near future.
