Common Tree Shrew

unfortunatly this was taken some years ago and I have lost the identity of the animal in the photo so does anyone have any idea\'s

Probably Tupaia glis

Yes, they have Common Tree Shrew and Belanger's Tree Shrew there. I'm sure this one was at the entrance to the Dinosaur Safari. Unfortunately, I lost all my photos due to a memory card malfunction, otherwise I could have answered for sure as I had taken a photo of the info board for this species.

If this photo was also taken at Blackpool some time ago (along with the agouti ones) then Hix is almost certainly right - they used to have these in the Small Primate House - Common Tree Shrew - Tupaia glis.

(Nowadays, like most tree shrew exhibits in Europe, Blackpool's current display is of Belanger's/Mountain Tree Shrews, Tupaia belangeri)

The Belanger's are currently kept at the entrance of the Dinosaur Safari - I believe this photo predates that and would be a Common in the Small Primate House. :)

ISIS still lists them as having a single T. glis but I haven't seen the species on show there for some time.
