One of my five Chinese fire-bellied newts (Cynops orientalis). I believe this is one of the females (will be Carly if so). In one group I have, I believe, 2.1 (Evan, Chaz and Carly) and in the second group I have 1.1 (Pyro and an, as of yet, unnamed one).
The original trio have their names from - of all places - Emmerdale. I believed at first that it was a single male with two females, and since at the time there was a love triangle between Carl, Chas and Eve and I wanted the male to mate with both, I thought a love triangle would be apt.
Only got Pyro and his companion on the 3rd of June this year. Pyro gets his name from the fact I'm still not convinced he is an orientalis (or at least pure orientalis), instead thinking he may be pyrrhogaster or part pyrrhogaster. His full name is actually Pyrrhogaster, but Pyro is a nice shortened name and still sounds good :) - just need to think of one for my other female :D
