General view; Hemsley Conservation Centre

This is pretty much the whole of the zoo. Straight ahead is the house for kinkajou, coendu and crocodile; to the right is the lemur house (they have an outdoor run behind it); to the right is the reptile shed, and next to it - just out of shot - the amphibian shed.

Is there any obvious room for expansion Sooty ?

Yes; the immediate surroundings look very move into-able. I have heard that the owner, speaking on local TV news, spoke of one day wanting to have elephants there; certainly, during my visit, I overheard him talking to another visitor about one day having orang utans. Ambition is certainly to be applauded!

And are the enclosures a good size for these animals?

Yes. Most of the collection consists of reptiles and amphibians, who are in fairly standard vivs. The lemurs have a decent sized cage. The porcupines and kinkajous are not in vast accommodation - but it seemed pretty fine. I would worry about the promised rusty spotted cats, though - the space reserved for them is not large at all!

Sounds very promising, thanks Sooty.
