I remember these indoor areas quite well- they had very little depth. Maybe they copied the Bristol 'grille' design at get away from the barred cage feel.
Somewhere I have a nice b/w press photo of Jojo and Susie together with a girl keeper - they were already quite big when it was taken so they evidently still went in with them for quite some time. I went to see Jojo after Belle Vue closed and he was moved to Chester to try breeding with Gogal- I sadly failed as he was sick/offshow and died just a few weeks later.
