Grassholm island, off the coast of Pembrokeshire, is home to a massive colony of Northern Gannets (Morus bassanus), with 39,000 breeding pairs and a total of ca. 100,000 birds (including non-breeders). It is also a good site for breeding European Shags and Grey Seals.

Excellent shot. You can see the equal spacing of the pairs- each just outside bill-stabbing distance of their neighbours.

Thanks! Yes, the spacing is so consistent as to be almost comical - you can just imagine a new pair settling down and having to have a quick 'peck-off' to make sure they've left enough room! :D
