A bat in daylight

Unsure of exact species, but probably a Pipistrellus sp.

This particularly small bat was flying around the front of my house for about half an hour, hunting small insects and being harried by dragonflies. This was one of the brief periods where it paused to rest on the side of the house.

An excellent and unusual shot! I myself have two or three species of bat living in my garden, judging by the various sizes and flight patterns, but I'd never have a hope of identifying them! My girlfriend's house, being an old 16th century structure, is *full* of bats, as are the surrounding barns and sheds.
