That's what happens when I post after midnight
I can remember several times when I have seen a stoat with a camera in my hand without being able to take any sort of photo. This guy gave me a sequence.

I see stoats and weasels quite regularly when in the Northumberland countryside, but as you note, even when you have a camera at hand they are generally gone by the time you have grabbed it! And of course, often I don't have a camera at hand at all
