The keeper informed me [1] that the zoo now has two female Hyaenas, with the new arrival currently off show and [2] Stella the Hyaena in this photo will probably be moved sometime next year so that a male can be brought in.

i picked up a leaflet and inside was a map of the park with a advertisement for hunting dogs arriving this summer! but it was over the current hyena enclosure and because hyenas are no longer on the map but hunting dogs there instead i assume they are leaving.

For me that's really bad news, hunting dogs are fairly common in the UK, especially compared to striped(or any )hyena! I can see hunting dogs plenty of places without the awful trek to AA, they wont be a draw for me!
