I've heard visitors say that crocodiles must be fake when they don't move, this takes it to a new level! :D

This isn't anything new at amazon world, I visited in 1996 and in all the dart frog Viv's were plastic models. The labels stated due to the difficulty of keeping these frogs they hoped visitors wouldn't mind if they used plastic frogs instead to illustrate each species.

I kid you not.:confused:They were very life like I had some my self but didn't fill vivs with them and charge visitors money.

that is weird. I could quite imagine having a display case of plastic poison arrow frogs to illustrate the diversity (assuming they were all good copies of real species), but if you can't keep the actual frogs alive then use the vivariums for other frog species that they can keep alive!

Yes they were very good copies especially the Tinctorius species but not what you want to see in a zoo! they had other frogs but larger varieties nothing special though . I remember also, the chameleon had dropped of his branches and as non of the branches touched the floor he couldn't get back up and was walking along the floor of the Viv trying to grasp a twig. I reported it at the time, but don't know if they did anything about it. I also recall small cages for the lemurs, but I think that will have changed now it was rather along time ago. over 16 years now.
