Big noisy bird - 30/08/15

I think it's a grey-winged trumpeter.

That would certainly explain the noise! It was lovely to hear though, very unusual sound.

I believe it is a very friendly hand reared individual, a few years ago I sat down and it sat within 6" of my lap!

I'm not sure about hand reared but it didn't seem phased by humans and was in this photo about a foot from me and then had a wander around people's feet, I have a video of it

while on an ecotour on the Peru Amazon and at camp, two captive raised trumpeters would follow us around and jump in our laps when were sitting. They enjoyed being preened. closing their eyes and would peck pieces of bananna from our hands. They were delightful birds.
