Agreed - a brilliant photo, especially of a wild animal!

It is. Arundel is a lovely place and they have an electrically operated silent boat which goes through the reeds with the prospect of seeing water voles and little grebe amongst others.

It was an excellent experience, the other people in the boat had a real sense of expectation and reverance which I found encouraging.

You can also see water voles along the streams which line the road from the centre of the very nice town to the Wetland Centre.

I agree that Arundel is a lovely place and also concur that the boat ride through the reeds is a great experience; nevertheless I do have mixed feelings about this.

Although I thoroughly enjoy the boat ride, which provides excellent opportunities to view water vole and little grebe, I very much regret the loss of the old waterfowl enclosures which were swept away to make room for this attraction; as a result fewer species of waterfowl are now exhibited which I find disappointing.

And that is a fantastic photograph.

Is this species the famous "Ratty" of "The Wind in the Willows" fame?
