Redheaded duck?
....redhead....

Ned -- I remember the following ducks from visiting Axe Valley a couple of weeks ago: Common Shelduck, Ruddy Shelduck, Mandarin, Carolina, Baikal Teal, Tufted, Ringed Teal, Red-billed Pintai, Fulvous Whistling Duck, a white-faced Whistling Duck, Common Goldeneye, Radjah Shelduck, Comb Duck, Eider, lots of Call Ducks. Is this any help?
Possibly Laysan Teal as well, but I didn't write anything down and this is from memory.

That is helpful, thanks. I saw most of those though certainly not the pintail. I did see Laysan Teal which I got a poor photo of. Also saw a pair Garganey and what I'm fairly certain was a falcated duck but have no photos of it.

Ned did the Falcated duck look like the image I have added at the bottom of the comment.

If so it's a Falcated Teal.

...redhead.....

'Teal' is such an elastic term, that Anas falcata is more commonly referred to as Falcated Duck, it's closest relatives probably being the Gadwall, followed by the three Wigeon species.

It did look very much like this duck though the head plumage seemed a more uniform green. I suppose this could be down to the light.
