The cage was around the centre of the zoo I think, the roof was quite low and side sloping inwards I remember, and an external but connected "den" (inside housing) at the back of cage, left hand corner. if looking from the front.

Just looking at the 1984 map the Panther cage was just past the marmoset/tamarin houses but before the binturong and otter enclosures, and near the flamingo and penguins. Hope that helps.
