The fact the face is somewhat obscured confuses matters somewhat, but the general colour and pattern makes me suspect this is a Southern Boobook (Ninox boobook), even though what is visible of the face-disc makes this look like a Tyto owl - Banham does hold African Barn Owl, but this animal is entirely the wrong colour for this taxon.
