I always seem to see bullfinches more in the late winter than any other time of year. It has happened this year as usual- seen several in recent weeks. maybe they are just more active/mobile searching for seeds around now.
I often hear them calling around here but do not often see them , their call is quite distinctive once you know what to listen for . They come into the garden in Spring to feed on forget-me-not seeds .
