johnstoni 6 Mar 2010 Did this group replace the Pere David's Deer at Birmingham or are these in addition?
C C chizlit 6 Mar 2010 There is no mention of the Pere David's deer on their site guide so I'm guessing they are gone. I'll look next time I go.

Maguari 6 Mar 2010 The Sitatunga replaced the small herd of Fallow Deer. I have never seen or heard of Pere David's at Birmingham, and I've been a more-or-less annual visitor for the last decade or so.

johnstoni 7 Mar 2010 They were due to recieve 1.2 Pere David's deer in 2007. The article below (and others like it) suggest some did arrive....you have to scroll down: BBC - Birmingham - Features - Three For The Weekend I am guessing either they never recieved them but put out press prematurely, or else it perhaps didn't go well and they lost them?

Click to expand... I visited shortly after the link you included and they weren`t there then, also visited in 2008 and 2009 and never saw any then,so I think they never turned up which is a pity I think they would have made an interesting exhibit for this collection.
