Through an old museum building.

Admission to the council-run centre costs the princely sum of £3. I usually spend a comparable amount of time here to the time I spend at the SeaLife Centre (I generally do the two on the same day about once a year). And admission to the SeaLife is a few pennies off £18 (if you don't cheat with discount vouchers ;) ).

Didn't take any this time but may have some 'in the archives' - I'll have a quick rummage!

The lynx enclosure is rather comically 'Health and Safety' conscious - the fence looks stronger than most places would use for wolves or leopards.

Here we go; a couple of shots of the lynx enclosure just after it's re-fencing (taken March 2009):

Thank you for that I couldnt work out what an enclosure made from security mesh would look like, its actually not too bad! is the over hang just mesh or is that a perspex lining? maybe its my eyes but looks grey?

quite confident that could contain a bear!

Just mesh as far as I recall.

Am I right in saying the lynx enclosure once held lions?
Which would give a reason to these comments!

Possibly there have been lions on this site in the Birmingham Zoo days but the Nature Centre has never had lions and this exhibit had lynx for several years before the current fencing went up. :)

EDIT: On the Brum Zoo map posted here, the lynx paddock is the bottom-right side of the camel paddock.
